I am a 48 age year male. I practice martial arts since the age off 15. I started with traditonal karate, then pencjac-silat, kyokunshi kai karate, boxing, kick-boxing, kung-fu etc.
Off course I was influnce by Bruce Lee.
Since a few years I try to teach all the things that Ihave learned to my students. only the things that I think that works on the street.
Since a few years I try to understand all there is off JKD.
2 Time a year Richard Torres comes to Holland for a seminar and Ted Wong once a year. I try alwyas to be there and to learn.
I never have paid to much attention on specific strengthtraining but since Internet I thought that I must do that as supplementary training for my marrtial arts.
So I have tried everything, from bodybuilder routines to low-rep low weight, bodyweighted exercises, 5 x 5 routines, 3 x 3 routines etc. etc.
Most off the time it ended up that I was doiing more strenghttraining (2-3 times a week) then my MA -training.
And sometimes it takes so lot off time (and energy) that I dont had any energy left for my martial arts training.
Now I found this JKD site and was wondering what you guys think off strengthtraining to supplement your JKD.
Can somebody give me some examples off routines that are not bodybuilder routines but great for JKD?
I train at home so I dont have any lat-pulley stuff orso, so I cant do lat-pull downs or leg curls.
I can do dips, pull-ups, I have a bench, a barbell, dumbells, a bullworker, expansers and off course a heavy bag.
Can somebody please help me because I dont know what to do for my strength.
