If one trains in JKD and decides to crosstrain in Judo or Wing Chun can he or she still train hold true to the JKD being unique and all. Often it is said that adding or crosstraining in different styles will make JKD into a concept which i disargee in being a concept.
However If one can crosstrain in Judo and Jeet Kune Do along with Wing Chun and Krav Maga does it not hold truth to JKD?

When you say cross train I assume that you imply that you are training in another art or martial interest apart from your JKD, not blending those arts in your training of JKD. If you have an interest then by all means train in what you would like, however, I think that it should not be a part of your JKD… refine.

I think you will find the outcome is the same. Senario 1 If you want your core art to be JKD. You study other arts to find their weaknesses and how to counter them. In the process if you find something that is good about the other arts you absorb it and add it to your arsenal (your JKD). Senario 2 Your core art is Muay thai. But by doing OJKD you find principals that will make you more aware of multi-opponent fighting (even though ancient muay thai already has them) and you get an idea of how ti fight more economically and maybe adapt a JKD structure for certain situations in and outside the ring.
So now tell me ... how is this different than going to one school and doing it the so called concepts way? All this about about original is this and concepts is that is nothing but hogwash.
Many concepts schools teach original JKD as their core foundation. Then they look outwards if the student wishes too. On the other hand many OJKD schools just keep teaching more and more different techniques from different Eras of Bruces teachings!!!! They claim the are OJKD but they are more detattched from the JKD process than the concept school in my example.

I did not think this forum was on line anymore, I removed the link from my website long ago. I will answer each question but am strapped for time. I will start with this one.
Because of the interpretation by many that OJKD is anything and everything that BL did during his lifetime, I am not using the term anymore but will keep the domain name originaljkd.net. The BL Foundation describes Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do as all that encompasses his progression which these days may be interchangeable with OJKD, or at least thought of in that manner to many. When I purchased the domain name it was my intent of OJKD being what BL taught in the later stages of his evolution of JKD without adding the various arts weather 1 or 26, only what he taught TW. What TW taught was the later not the progression, therefore, with his permission and now that if his family the term used to describe TW’s teachings is TWJKD, Ted Wong’s teachings of JKD.
